13th October 1942 – 4th October 2007

Margaret Boston was a member of the original “Save Lake Illawarra Action Group”.

Margaret came along to the first meeting as she and Ray

were very concerned about the state of the lake in front of their home.

Prior to joining our group they had already contacted the
Lake Illawarra Authority about their concerns, with very little or no results.

Around the same time Barry Hennessy was also campaigning about the state of the Lake ,
Margaret contacted Barry and then both of them joined their efforts
and were the first to join the Save Lake Illawarra Action Group.

Because of her sunny disposition and friendly nature

Margaret soon became the favourite of our group and made many lasting friends.

Margaret was very passionate about the state of the lake
and has been known to give Doug Prosser of the Lake Illawarra Authority

a hard time when the opportunity arose.

Because of her persistence she was responsible for a lot of work to the lake
and the park at
Kanahooka Bay being carried out by the Lake Illawarra Authority.

Around the time our group was running a member for the State Government,
Margaret, in spite of her bad back, was the one who ran up and down the street
delivering campaign leaflets for our prospective member while Ray drove the car.

Margaret was always there when the ‘lake clean up’ was arranged
and we had many pleasant BBQ after the clean up at Ray and Margaret’s place.

GOODBYE Margaret, you will be missed by all in our group.
